Interferon

Interferon is a protein made by humans and other animals to help fight infections. Different types of interferon are made in a laboratory (synthetic interferon) and used as medicines to treat certain diseases, such as leukemia, multiple sclerosis, hepatitis C, and some forms of cancer.
